All of our A-Level Tutors in London are professionals
When important exams such as the GCSE or A-level are coming
up; or if your children need a grade to a subject to improve their needs; or
simply if you can see that your children are not able to reach their maximum
potential, but they may have a little personal help from a trained
professional, then the first option that comes to mind is often a tutorial. But
do private tutors really help children get more? Will a tutor for your child
really improve the child's grades? The short answer is yes. A survey conducted
in 2005 by the University of London has shown that children - especially boys -
do benefit from having a private tutor.
Marks went up as much as three-quarters of a grade. In the
United States, a similar study showed that only 10 hours of private tutoring in
72% of the students helped their classify one or two letters. It's no wonder,
then, according to a 2009 survey for Sutton Trust for almost 50% London's
London secondary schools, and 20% of those Wales and England, have a private
tutor at one time or another. But why does tutoring help? Well, first, there is
really something to be told for one-on-one instruction. If your child's teacher
is too fast, or your child has a problem that has prevented your child from
having a topic of understanding, then, your child's grades will be affected.
Very few children will risk the humiliation that may come
from the teacher asking for a lesson or a re-explaining concept. They will
definitely not do it in front of their peers. But in the privacy of a tutorial
session, the child can ask all questions that he or she needs to ask and, from
there, stumbling block over. The second benefit of tutoring is tutors are to be
mentors as well. There are times when the child's academic troubles are of some
hidden personal trouble such as a quarrel with friends, lovelornity, or
bullying. A tutor often gets up as a friend who can give advice on how a child
treats these normal lives with dealings, and thus helping the child to overcome
their academic life
Of course, for your child to benefit from a personal tutor,
you need to know how to choose the right one. The best tutors are those who are
carefully screened and trained to work with students. It helps, too, when there
is a system in place for the regular assessment of the tutors by a supervisor
and by their own students. Certainly, more than anything else, it is the
child's own dedication and motivation that dictates how much child tutoring
will be beneficial. But for those who really want to improve and just need a
friendly boost from a friendly and friendly professional, only two hours of
tutoring per week can result in significant improvement in just a month or two.
